First 2025 collaboration

I teamed up with the talented musician Stella for Strangers to create a captivating video blending her hauntingly beautiful music with my imagery. Experience the magic of Beneath the Shadows—watch now!

Volume 3 seamlessly continues the narrative from where part 2 left off, completing the ‘Gardens of Remembrance’ trilogy. Consistent with its predecessors, I’ve included the same four chapters: ‘Sepia shades‘, ‘In the shadows’, ‘Transitional’, and ‘Vividus’ – aiming to capture the essence of these abandoned spaces through my lens… ensuring the indispensable embrace of the ‘dark aesthetic’.

I hope this passionate endeavour ignites creativity, serves as a valuable inspiration or becomes a sanctuary for brief escapes into aesthetic dreams... of the dark kind.

The final tome is here!

“Being passionate graveyard photographers ourselves we’ve always admired Sven’s distinctive artistic vision, storytelling skills and unconventional sense of observation. While cemeteries are places where a lot of drama reigns, he manages to capture the beauty of these sacred spaces in a surprisingly serene way. Needless to say, Sven has an eagle eye that is second to none.“

Gardens of Remembrance: Necrography

‘Necrography’ serves as the collective title for the three volumes in the Gardens of Remembrance series. Created and published by Vespertine Offering, this collection delves into a photographic /historical voyage of discovery into our common and inescapable past only to become a sanctuary for brief escapes into aesthetic dreams... of the dark kind.

“The graveyards featured in Gardens of Remembrance offer a sense of timeless tranquility, their weathered gravestones and crumbling monuments bearing witness to human existence. The interplay of light and shadow, captured masterfully in black and white by the artist, creates a dramatic and evocative atmosphere.”

Gardens of Remembrance is a voyage of discovery into our common and inescapable past. Exploring abandoned, overgrown, faded, impoverished and –yes– unprosperous graveyards from olden times.
